.22 LR cal. only, specifically designed for U.S. Army training, 25 in. heavy target barrel including scope blocks, oversized stock, some rifles are "star" marked indicating an accuracy guarantee, 10 3/4 lbs. Mfg. 1987-1991.
20,000 rifles were mfg. 1987-1989 to fill the initial U.S. government contract. These rifles were all transferred to the CMP for resale to the public and are all marked "US" over the serial number. Commercial guns were manufactured for the private sector pending an accuracy test of .3 @ 50 yards with match ammo. These guns were marked with a "Star" stamp over the serial number.
