MARLIN MODEL 1895 (1895SS) Description

.45-70 Govt. cal., 22 in. barrel with micro groove (12 grooves) or deep cut Ballard-type (6 grooves, new 1997) rifling, 4 shot 2/3 tube mag., adj. semi-buckhorn folding rear, ramp front with brass bead and wide-scan hood sights, tapped for scope mount, American black walnut pistol grip stock and forend with cut checkering (became standard 1994), rubber rifle buttpad, MarShield finish, swivel studs 13 3/8 in. LOP, hammer block safety, deeply blued metal surfaces, 40 1/2 in. OAL, 7 lbs. Mfg. 1983-2020.

In 2001, this model's nomenclature was changed from 1895SS to 1895. In 1997 Marlin released their new deep cut Ballard-type rifling with 6 grooves.
