MOSIN-NAGANT M1891 Description
The M1891 was the primary rifle of the Russian and Red Army infantry from 1891 to 1930 before its replacement by the updated M91/30. 7.62x54mmR cal., bolt-action, 5-shot fixed magazine fed individually or by the use of stripper-clips, round or “hex” receiver with blued finish, 29 in. barrel topped with range-adjustable rear sight, hardwood or laminate stock. 48.5 in. OAL, 9 lbs. Manufactured by the Tula and Ishevsk Arsenals from 1892 to 1937. Earlier models include traditional sling swivels and a finger rest behind the trigger guard while later models include a reinforcing bolt through the finger grooves and slot-type sling holes.
