.256 Newton cal., Marlin made, square cut rifled barrels, marked "o-o-o" before and after the barrel address and Newton style stock were assembled on a Springfield action by Newton or sold separately to be assembled by the owner of the action, customer supplied the sights.
Due to the low numbered receivers and the fact that many of these barrels were customer fitted, it is not advisable to fire these rifles until a competent gunsmith has performed an inspection.
