Spl., .32-40 B&W High Power, .35 Win., .38-55 High Power, .38-72 or .405 Win. cal., the Standard Grade sporter has 24, 26 (standard), or 28 in. round barrel, checkered half pistol grip stock with rifle buttplate and two points facing the action, Standard Grade, Heavy Weight sporter has 24 and 26 in. heavy barrel, express sights, checkered half pistol grip stock with shotgun buttplate and three points facing the action, Special Remington Lee Sporter is high grade, 26 in. half round, half octagon barrel, select extra fine checkered English walnut stock, shotgun butt with center grain exposed and heel and toe steel tips and five points facing the action, wind gauge front Lyman sight and aperture rear sight, the standard three grooves on the side Lee-Diss magazine was used, to accommodate the shorter cartridges the .30-30, .32 Win. and .32-40 B&W magazines have a rear spacer while the .38-55 magazine has a front spacer. Serial number range 75001-76446. A total of 1,446 factory sporters were shipped from 1899 to 1909.
