.31 cal., single shot underhammer pistol, 2 3/4 in. part octagon/part round barrel, marked "NATH'I RIDER & CO/SOUTHBRIDGE, MASS." with small eagle emblem, maple stock, pointed grip, variation (Rider and Co.) has heavier and broader flat butt and marked "RIDER & CO", 6 in.
