.30 Carbine (disc. 1996, reintroduced 1998), .357 Mag., .41 Mag. (disc. 1996, reintroduced 1999), or .45 LC cal., similar to Old Model Blackhawk, 4 5/8 (.357 Mag., .41 Mag., and .45 LC), 5 1/2 (.45 LC only), 6 1/2 (.357 Mag. and .41 Mag. only), or 7 1/2 in. (.30 Carbine and .45 LC only) cold hammer forged barrel, transfer bar safety, adj. sight, alloy grip frame, 6 shot, current mfg. has black checkered grips, ramp front and adj. rear sights, includes hard plastic case, 40-44 oz. New 1973.
New Model .357 Mag. Blackhawks are serial numbered 32-00001 on up. New Model .45 LC Blackhawks are serial numbered 46-00001 on up. New Model .30 Carbine Blackhawks are serial numbered 51-00001 on up and the earliest .41 Blackhawks were serial numbered 41-00001 on up only to be included within the 46- prefix beginning in 1980. Note that in 2015, all regular production Blackhawks were merged into the 38- prefix at serial number 38-30081.
Beginning in 2007, this model in blue was supplied with unobtrusive internal lock and black checkered grips as standard. Beginning mid-2012, Ruger discontinued the use of the unobtrusive internal lock and in 2014 reintroduced laminate grip panels.
