SG 550/551 Description

.223 Rem. cal. with heavier bullet, Swiss Army's semi-auto version of a tactical design rifle (SIG 90), 20.8 (SG 550) or 16 in. (SG 551 Carbine) barrel, some synthetics used to save weight, 20 shot mag., diopter night sights, built-in folding bipod, 7.7 or 9 lbs.

This model had very limited domestic importation before 1989 Federal legislation banned its configuration.
