The M17 in Desert Tan finish were initially distributed to the U.S. military. Later, they switched to black controls (trigger, safety, slide stop, magazine release, slide cap and extractor tension pin) and the versions with tan controls were returned to Sig Sauer that were reworked as necessary and then distributed. These should have an "TF00" prefix. There were about 5,000 of these returned.
