.45 ACP, .45 Auto Rim, or .45 LC (earlier mfg.) cal., N-frame, blue finish only, target grips, 4, 6 (later mfg.), 6 1/2 (earlier mfg.), or 8 3/8 (later mfg.) in. barrel, pinned and recessed variation was disc. in the middle of 25-5 mfg. (circa 1988). Disc. 1999.
After 1961, the Model 25 in .45 ACP cal. was designated Model 25-2, with trigger guard screw eliminated. Generally odd numbered dash numbers are chambered in .45 LC (3-5-7-9-11-13), while even numbers (2-4-6-8-10-12) are chambered in .45 ACP. There were 13 engineering changes in two calibers to this model.
