.40 S&W cal., 3 1/2 in. barrel, DA/SA, spherical bushing, bobbed hammer, Novak Lo-Mount carry sights, 9-round single stack magazine, alloy frame, grips and frame may be stamped with Performance Center logo, beveled trigger, adj. front dovetail sight, oversize slide rails, 500 mfg., 27 oz. Distributed by Lew Horton, 1992, 1993, and 1995.
A total of 1,583 guns were produced with serial numbers PCS0001 to PCS1583, The initial order was for 500 guns when first released, however they sold so well that the run was extended of the first generation pistols. There were some minor changes within the first group, to the blued hammer and trigger on the later guns. There are subtle differences between the first and second production runs (e.g.: grip tang extended, horizontal checkering added to the front strap, color variations on some parts) product code 170060. The 3rd generation pistols were the ones with the higher production numbers some of which were marked "MK III". These were released in blue, product Code 170061 and stainless steel, Product code 170076. The fourth variation was Model 4006 Shorty Forty PC Y2000 was made for Camfour Dist. product #170164 in blue finish.
