.22 Short rimfire cal., two-shot, brass frame, 2 or 2 1/2 octagonal manually revolving barrel marked "FRANK WESSON/WORCESTER, MASS/PAT DEC 15, 1868" (First Type, vertically) or "FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS Pt DEC 15/68" (Second Type, horizontally), spur trigger, bird's head butt, rosewood grips, ring shaped hammer, occasionally found with a sliding dagger or pencil in the middle. Approx. 3,000 mfg. circa 1868-1880. RF=3.
