HOMOGENOUS WROUGHT WHITNEY ARMS CO, WHITNEYVILLE, CONN, E. WHITNEYS PATENT OCTOBER 23, 1866, JULY 27, 1869", two trigger guards, front trigger releases barrels, browned damascus striped barrels, or overall blued finish, black walnut varnished stock and forearm with checkered wrist, serial no. markings below buttplate, bottom tang, forend, and underside of barrel, engraving on receivers often observed. Mfg. circa 1870-1874. RF=3.
