12 ga., recoil operated, 26 or 28 in. barrel, various chokes, pistol grip laminated birch stock. Mfg. 1911-1921, with some production occurring between 1921-1928, 103,246 produced, action had design problems, nicknamed "The Widowmaker" or "Head Buster."
Values assume original wood without splitting, repair, or replacement. The Model 1911 was Winchester's first semi-auto shotgun. It did not prove to be satisfactory partly because the design had to avoid infringing the patents for Browning's famous A-5 model. Interestingly enough, this was a design which Winchester originally had helped Browning patent.
