.40 cal., engraved brass frame, 4 7/8 in. tapering octagon barrel, brass blade front sight, no rear sight, two separate spur triggers, walnut square butt grips, two centrally mounted hammers, right strikes perc. nipple for forward load, left for aft load, marked "LINDSAY'S YOUNG AMERICA on top of barrel and "PATENT APD FOR" on right side of frame at breech, engraved brass frame,, two centrally mounted hammers. Less than 20 mfg. circa early 1860s. RF=5.
