.41 cal., 4 in. part square/part octagon barrel, single spur trigger, walnut square butt grips, walnut square butt grips, engraved deer and dog on brass frame, engraved lion and flags on left side of barrel, right strikes perc. nipple for forward load, left for alt load, marked "LINDSAY'S YOUNG AMERICA YORK" on right side of barrel, and "PATENT'D OCT.9, 1860" on bottom of barrel, two centrally mounted hammers.
