.30 Rem., .32 Rem., .35 Rem., or .300 Savage cal., takedown action, 5 shot, non-detachable box mag., 22 in. round barrel, notched elevator rear sight. An improvement of the Model 8; was available in 5 grades. 56,091 mfg. 1936-1950.
The .32 Rem. cal. was dropped after WWII and the .300 Savage was added in 1940. A few specimens have been observed in .25 Rem. cal., which was advertised only the first year as a production model and were made as original factory models until remaining .25 Rem. barrels from Model 8 stock was depleted. Therefore, original factory production in .25 Rem. cal. would only be found in the first few years of model production.
