Military Match Target Model Description
.280 Ross cal., 26 in. barrel, box mag. (same as M-10 Sporter with flat floorplate), light walnut stocks with a commercial finish and a Ross MkIII battle sight, recalibrated for .280 Ross cal. Mfg. circa 1913. Extremely scarce.
While originally thought to have been produced in 1912, recent information points to a manufacture date in late 1913. Ross considered this model to be the perfect military rifle. A suspected total of 25 rifles were built on the commercial line and all known examples are serial numbered in the 10200 range. The large majority of these were reported as destroyed in Quebec post-WWII.
