CO./HARTFORD, CONN." or "SHARP'S RIFLE/MANUFG. CO./HARTFORD, CONN.", on the tang "C. SHARPS/PATENT/1848", and on the lockplate "C. SHARPS'/PATENT/1852" or "SHARPS'/PATENT/1852".
