U.S. MODEL 1867 BREECH LOADING CADET RIFLE Description
.50 centerfire cal., breech loading, 33 in. barrel (unlined), with two bands, blued rear sights, bright metal finish, case colored lock, 12 1/2 in. stock from middle of buttplate to center of trigger, no sling swivels, slim shaft iron ramrod without stop, Civil War lockplate marked with eagle, "U.S.", "SPRINGFIELD", and "1867", breech block has blackened finish with deep cut-outs on each side, marked "1866" over eagle's head. Mfg. circa 1867-1868. RF=4.
This model is a smaller version of the U.S. Model 1866 Second Model Allin-Trapdoor.
