U.S. MODEL 1795 MUSKET - 2ND TYPE Description
.69 cal., single shot, muzzleloader, 44 1/2 in. round smoothbore barrel, 3 barrel bands with bayonet lug on front band, marked "P", "V", and small eagle's head near breech, small blade front sight, 56 1/2 in. full stock with flat metal buttplate and date, lockplate marked "U.S." over eagle and "Springfield" in horizontal curve, dated "1806 to 1809" at rear of lock and on butt, trigger guard semi-pointed on front and rounded at rear, sling swivels are seen with and without screws, flat face, beveled edge hammer with curl on top of spur, iron detachable flashpan. Mfg. circa 1806-1809. RF=1.
