U.S. MODEL 1811 PISTOL - "MODEL 1810" Description
.69 cal., lockplate marked "U. STATES", eagle, and "S. NORTH BERLIN CON", single shot muzzleloader, 8 5/8 in. round smoothbore pin fastened barrel marked "V", eagle, and "CT" within an oval, no sights, bright metal finish, walnut full stock with umbrella shaped brass buttcap, brass pan with fence, hickory ramrod, 2 lbs. 11 oz., 15 in. OAL. Mfg. circa 1811-1813. RF=3.
Some guns were sold to Privateers out of Boston, Massachusettes, as Simeon North felt these specimens would not meet the U.S. Government inspection standards. This model was sold to the Army for $8.50 and to Privateers for $12.00.
