NORTH", eagle, "U.S.", and "MIDLtn CONN.", sliding safety bolt on right side of lock near hammer, single shot muzzleloader, 10 in. round smoothbore barrel marked "P", "U.S.", and initials of proof tester, spring fastened barrel band, tang mounted rear sight, brass front sight, browned iron moumtings, walnut full stock with iron backstrap, brass pan without fence, majority of examples dated 1821 or 1822 on lockplate, swivel mounted ramrod, double necked hammer, 2 5/8 lbs. 15 1/2 in. OAL. Mfg. circa 1819-1823. RF=1.
